Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
Norin Ukani is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner credentialed by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) with Nursing Licenses from Texas Board of Nursing and California Board of Nursing. She earned her MSN at Indiana State University and BSN from the prestigious Aga Khan University.
She has also received accolades from Baylor University Medical Center (5 Star Spirit Awards, Service Excellence Awards, and Fabulous 50 Award) and Aga Khan University Hospital (Merit Certificate and Extra Ordinary Educational Achievement).
Before joining the Comprehensive Pain Management Center (CPMC), Norin had a broad experience in Family Practice, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Continuing/Episodic Care, Emergency Room (ER), Geriatric Health, Women Health/Gynecological Care, Labor and Delivery/Post-Partum, Pediatrics, and Adult Medical/Surgical Unit, Psychiatric and Community Health Clinical rotations.
Norin�s core competency is comprehensive pain management for her patients which is not limited to history and pain assessment, diagnostic testing, managing Intrathecal Pain Pumps, monitoring the effectiveness of the prescribed medicine, verifying post procedure protocol, and educating the patient at every step but going beyond to make them comfortable with the treatment plan. Norin believes that each patient is unique and by partnering with the patient to design a comprehensive treatment plan that includes monitoring, educating, prevention, and self-preservation, put them in the driver seat of their health management which fosters better outcomes. Her goal is to be proactive, supportive, and a great listener while delivering culturally appropriate care to each individual patient and promoting healthy lifestyle changes.
In her spare time, Norin enjoys spending time with her family, sports, outdoors, and traveling with her family.
